Program Information

The first class of the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center Practical Nursing Progam graduated in 1971. Since then classes have graduated yearly. The full time class begins every August and graduates in July. The Practical Nursing Program consists of twelve months of classroom/clinical instruction, or 48 weeks. The part time class begins in March in odd years with a total of 96 weeks. The program is divided into 3 semesters. The program runs Monday through Friday with classroom days from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and clinical days from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Classroom instruction is held at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center. Clincal experiences are held at a variety of institutions in the area including Clearfield Hospital, Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, Ridgeview Eldercare, health agencies, physicians' offices, and other community-based nursing health care facilities. In addition, a simulation lab is utilized to enhance the students learning experience.

According to data which was gathered from 2009-2011, Clearfield County Career & Technology Center has a 95% average job placement rate. The information was gathered from graduate surveys.
Clearfield County Career & Technology Center has three year average retention rate (2010-2012) of 71%.
Clearfield County Career & Technology Center three year average first time pass rate on the licensing exam (NCLEX-PN) is 92.5%

  • Pre-requisite: High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Stop at the school to pick-up an application packet or call 814-765-4047 to request an application packet or apply online.
  • Complete and submit the Application Form or apply online.
  • Contact your High School and have your transcript or G.E.D. scores sent to the address below:
