Precision Machining

The Precision Machining course is designed to teach the students set-ups, operations, maintenance, and repair of industrial type metalworking machinery. The machine shop at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center has a large variety of metal working equipment which allows each student to receive more hands-on time at the machines.

Typical hourly rates for people in the machine shop industry range from $10.00 for entry level, to $16.00 or more depending on skills and experience. Add to this high demand for machine work which means over time pay, these people easily earn between $20,000 to $40,000 a year.
